Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream : Review
Written by: Swati on:
Hello everyone! Today I am sharing one of my most loved and "cannot-do-without-it" product, the famous Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. Oh Burt's Bees...where had you been all my life?! For years I have had problems with my cuticles and hangnails too. And this little tin has been my saviour, especially with the chilly weather and all the frequent hand washing now.
The product comes in a round tin. It is a hassle to open it, though I love how vintage-y it looks! It is slim and small, and you can travel around with it easily..slip it into your pocket or your bag. Totally love the packaging!
The fragrance is divine! So zesty....like a fresh lemon tart (okay..now I am having cravings :D). It really smells good enough to eat (and I do sniff it a lot once I open the tin!).
It would be very wrong to address this as a cream.
The texture is more of a dense balm/wax which melts when warmed up (the way coconut oil does during winters). A very small amount is needed, I have been using it for around 6 months now and I am not even 1/4th down! Just swirl you finger around and you are good to go.
It spreads very easily and gets absorbed well. You do need a bit of rubbing in to make it sink in...just a few minutes though (if it takes you a long time, then clearly you have taken too much of the product). It does leave the skin feeling a little bit greasy for a while but honestly, I like giving myself that little massage, it's like a bit of pampering for my nails :)
I must say that the butter is very effective. It prevents hangnails as it moisturises the nail area well. It manages to keep my cuticles smooth and nourished for a long time (I need far less manicures now). I also think that it has made my nails looks a lot more healthier, though I have had strong nails all my life
I try and use it every night (okay okay...sometimes I am lazy, so every alternate night atleast) and every time I use a polish remover, and it pops life right back into my cuticles!
I would have loved to try out Lush Lemony Flutter but sadly Lush has closed all its stores in India!!
So I cannot compare.
On the downside, this little tin of genius, is not that easily available in India and is priced high on sites where it is available.
I bought it from the Fab bag website for around 600 something (I cannot remember the exact price now), but it isn't available there anymore. Fabbag, if you are reading this, please bring these back!
I absolutely love this stuff! The formula is great, it is travel friendly and great for daily use when your nails and cuticle bed might be brittle or dry (especially from the colder weather). Plus it smells delightfully tart and lemon lime-y! What's not to love?!
