Kiehl's Love Oil For Lips
Written by: Swati on:
I have been loving lip oils ever since I tried the Clarins Lip Oil (reviewed here) back in 2017. I thoroughly enjoyed using the Clarins one and was almost about to repurchase it, when I heard about these new glosses from Kiehl’s (OK technically they’re oils—it’s in the name!). So, I chose to try out this one instead. Here's what I think...
Price: 1400 INR for 9ml
I would categorize this product as a lip gloss mainly. It cannot not replace my lip balms. It's a nice product to achieve a juicy, glass-like shine with no tackiness and no fuss.
Please keep in mind that if you are looking for something nourishing and repairing, it will not be enough.

I love the packaging - A slim tube is easy to carry around. The applicator is a plastic tip one, very reminiscent the old times. While some might not like the hard plastic tip, I actually prefer it over a sponge tip - according to me it is more hygienic.
About the product :
Inspired by the 1960's Summer of Love, the Kiehl's lightweight lip oils boost moisture for sifter, smoother lips. Their glow-infusing lip treatment provides the replenishment of an oil with the shine of a lip gloss. Add a natural-looking luster with our untinted formula or a smooth hint of colour with a tinted lip oil.
- Hydrates and nourishes lips
- Leaves lips with luscious shine and smooth, natural-looking glow
- Formulated with a luxurious blend of Coconut Oil, Moringa Oil, and Acerola Cherry Extract
- Available in Untinted or with a hint of color in Botanical Blush, Neon Pink, Apothecary Cherry, and Midnight Orchid.
- Non-sticky formula (feels like a lip gloss).
- Not too runny or too gloopy. Thick enough to glide on the lips easily.
- Makes the lips look well nourished & healthy.
- Gives a subtle shine like a gloss.
- Formula feels nourishing.
- Stays on for a couple of hours.
- Smells artificial. It smells like what lip glosses smelt back in the 1990's. I wish it wasn't this strong. (I get the retro look and feel, but would have appreciated a different fragrance or no fragrance at all). The fragrance goes away after a while, but it can be a bit disturbing to a sensitive nose.
- The tint is very very mild. There are 4 tinted shades and frankly I don't think they would look very different on the lips. I got the shade Midnight Orchid & it pretty much looks clear. You do need more than 1 definitely.
- Won't heal chapped lips. If you are looking for a real lip treatment that would repair dry lips I would not recommend this. To me it's more of a maintenance product that keeps lips in their healthy state.
