Paula's Choice 2% BHA Exfoliant (Salicylic Acid)

I have been using the Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant for over 10 months (since beginning of March 2020) & I have spoken a lot about it on Instagram already. Make sure to follow me there for more skincare talk & updates :)
No other chemical exfoliant works as well for me as BHA does. My combination skin which is prone to congestion, comedones & odd breakouts every now and then loves SALICYLIC ACID! And so after a brief & regrettable stint with another BHA serum, I finally got hold if Paulas Choice. Heads up - it was one of the best skincare decisions I have made. Read on!
The exfoliant is thin, fragrance free & absorbs quickly (contains glycol which enhances penetration). I haven't faced any irritation with it.
The problem with many salicylic acid products is that they can be drying. However, this is not drying at all. The formula contains Methylpropanediol & Butylene Glycol which are both hydrating on the skin. It also contains Green Tea which has a soothing/calming effect.
I use it only at night mostly on my problematic areas only & I do not use it everyday. I limit use to once a week mostly, because I don't think using an exfoliant everyday is necessary. In any case, even though the bottle says you can use it twice daily, I would recommend you to use it 1-2 times a week.
I also do not use a cotton pad with it (it's too precious to be wasted on a cotton pad...hehe). I prefer taking a bit out on my palm and dabbing it in with fingers. It's been working fine for me this way.
It has been extremely efficient in decongesting my pores & keeping them clean. I still get occasional breakouts but this has helped in reducing the frequency & it works well on the active spots I get. It also helped reduce most of the milia I had.⠀
I like that it is available in a smaller size which is perfect for trying out the product first. The 30 ml bottle I am using still has around a months use left & I have a full size backup ready. It's a beautiful product & I love it!

This is without a doubt the best BHA product I have used and I think it will be tough for any other to match up this. If you are looking to incorporate a leave on salicylic acid as a treatment then I highly recommend that you give Paula's Choice 2% BHA Exfoliant a try. It is a fabulous product.
