Dot & Key Foot Cream - Deodorizer + Moisturiser

Written by: Swati on:

Hello everyone! We have reviewed quite a few Dot & Key products on the blog before, I hope you have read those posts. If you haven't then you can read them here :

I'm adding another product to the list today - their Foot Cream : Deodorizer + Moisturiser.
While I don't experiment with face products a lot, I do like trying out different body care products. I picked this foot cream up in the summer because the sound of peppermint & deodorising sounded promising. Read on to know my thoughts!

Ingredients :

Purified Water, Urea, Mineral Oil, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Glyceryl Monostearate, Isopropyl palmitate, Cetyl Alcohol, Emulsifying Wax, Aluminium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Caprylyl Methicone , Saccharide Isomerate, Dimethicone, PPG 33 Butyl Ether, Sodium Caproyl/Lauroyl Lactylate (and) Triethyl Citrate, Microcrystalline Wax, Phenoxyethanol (and) Methylisothiazolinone, Peppermint Oil, Allantoin, Butylated Hydroxy Toluene, Disodium EDTA, Menthol, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-di-t-butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Cross polymer, Camphor, Lavender Oil, Sodium Hydroxide

Claims :

Packaging :

It comes in a plastic tube with looks quite cute & has a vintage vibe (doesn't it?). I like the packaging. It is easy to use.

Texture & Fragrance :

The cream has a medium thick consistency, it's not very rich. It spreads well, sinks in very fast and doesn't leave any sticky or greasy feeling behind. The smell is slightly minty - not obtrusive or too strong.

What I liked :
  • Urea & glycerin are quite high up on the ingredients list. Urea is beneficial in treating dry & rough skin conditions. It helps in softening & removing dead skin tissue and is a fantastic ingredient to have in a foot cream. I haven't come across many foot creams in India which use urea.
  • Moisturises well.
  • Keeps the skin maintained overall.
  • Makes the feet feel fresher & it also feels slightly cooling for a few minutes after application - due to peppermint oil, menthol & camphor.
  • Absorbs quickly.
  • No heavy or sticky feeling - good for using in the day.
  • Fresh mild minty fragrance.

What I did not like :
  • The quantity is quite less I feel. The tube gets over really quickly if you use it every day. I wish they had a bigger tube for the price.
  • The claim of "no nasty chemicals". I do not like when brands use statements like these to market their products. Let's get one thing straight : Everything in this world is a chemical & your skincare products are not out there to kill you. Enough with this fear mongering.

Price : 395 INR for 50ml ( available here )

Overall I think that this is a good foot cream if you want one which keeps your feet adequately moisturised & maintained. It also works well for daytime use since it isn't heavy. It will help combat mild dryness. But it is not amazingly repairing, so don't expect it to fix very damaged dry skin or deeper cracks. If you do need something that is intensely repairing then I suggest you look into the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream - which can also be used as a foot cream especially at night & works wonderfully. It is priced similarly but you only need a dab of the product so 1 tube lasts a very long time. Reviewed HERE.
Or you can just about use any cream you like (it need not be a foot cream really). The basic idea is to spare a few minutes and take care of your feet.

Swati
