Blend It Raw Apothecary Rosehip Oil

As you guys know I was going through a problematic phase with my skin a while ago. Both my cheeks had bouts of breakouts and closed comedones, resulting from my own mistakes.

In the past, rosehip oil was one skincare product that had worked well on my skin. I loved its effects so much that I got Swati to try it out, and she liked it too and even recommended it to her friends! It was featured in our Budget Friendly Indian Skincare products video - take a look here.  

My skin is now at a stage where it has significantly calmed down, and the process of healing has slowly begun. I'm ready to transition to products that will help speedup the healing, and Rosehip oil from Blend It Raw Apothecary really helped do this in the past (so I'll be repurchasing it soon!)

It's a nice emollient, moisturizing plant oil loaded with skin-nourishing fatty acids (linoleic acid - 51%, linolenic acid - 19% and oleic acid - 20%). The tocopherols (vitamin E) and carotenoids (pro-vitamin A) content of this oil gives it some nice antioxidant properties.

The oil comes packaged in a dark amber coloured glass bottle, with a convenient dropper. I appreciate the dark tint, because it protects the oil inside from degradation due to sunlight exposure. I anyway try to keep all my skincare goodies in a cool and dark place, but every extra detail helps :)

Coming to the oil itself, it's a deep golden orange. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it the first time, but don't worry, that is what high quality, cold processed and urefined rosehip oil is actually supposed to look like! I had thought that it would stain my skin, but I was wrong.

Texture wise, I'd say that this rosehip oil is not heavy if you use the correct quantity. I apply 2-3 drops of it and it sinks into the skin beautifully within a couple of minutes. For reference, I have dry and dehydrated skin which loves oils and salves. On Swati's combination skin also, 2-3 drops worked well and did not feel greasy.

My experience after using up an entire bottle over the course of many months has been really positive.

1) The 50ml bottle lasts quite long even with daily use.

2) The oil was pleasant to apply, and never felt heavy.

3) It did not irritate my skin, or cause acne/congestion.

4) I could see that in the time I used this rosehip oil, the occasional breakouts I got healed significantly faster and did not leave pigmentation behind. Super impressed with its results on my skin!

5) I loved how it supported my skin health and helped me achieve clearer complexion by reducing the intensity of earlier spots of PIH that I had. Within a few weeks of use, I could notice that my skin looked smoother and had a subtle glow (even when my face was freshly washed and bare).

6) Blend It Raw Beauty's Rosehip Seed oil is really good in quality. I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone looking for a face oil.
