Klairs Fundamental Nourishing Eye Butter

I have a favourite new eye cream! And I cannot wait to talk about it here - it's the Klairs Fundamental Nourishing Eye Butter.
If you don't know already, then let me tell you that I am quite smitten with the Klairs Fundamental line. I have spoken about the Water Oil Drop here already. This eye cream was the 2nd product I picked up from the fundamental line. I went for this because
(a) the brand specifically says that it is great for people who are prone to milia -- I am extremely prone to getting them around my lower lash line ; and
(b) because the formula contains peptides, which has become one of my favourite ingredients.
Update : Update : I have detailed reviews on all the other products in the Klairs Fundamental Line here - Watery Oil Drop, Eye Awakening Gel, Amuple Mist & Water Gel Cream.
This moisturizer contains sunflower seed oil that’s rich vitamin A and vitamin E to protect the thin skin around your eyes and while also contained peptides(Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Copper Tripeptide-1, Oligopeptide-29, Oligopeptides-32) improve the fine lines. It's suitable for everyone even with milium concern, as the soft butter-like texture helps the product absorbed quickly. It's rich enough without being oily so we also recommend it to oily skin types and people who mind overly rich eye creams.
4 dots of quad-peptide for bouncy eyes

- Apply not only around the eye areas but also on the neck, nasolabial folds, etc to improve fine lines

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Stearic Acid, 1,2-Hexanediol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Betaine, Caffeine, Phaseolus Angularis Seed Extract, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Chaenomeles Sinensis Fruit Extract, Chrysanthellum Indicum Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Diospyros Kaki Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Copper Tripeptide-1, Oligopeptide-29, Oligopeptide-32, Panthenol, Pantolactone, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glyceryl Stearate, Sorbitan Isostearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Arachidic Acid, Oleic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Ethylhexylglycerin
Packaging is minimal but chic looking - sleek squeezy tube & the nozzle makes it very easy to control the amount I dispense.
Don't let the name fool you - the term butter is not really suited for this eye cream. When I think of anything butter, I usually picture a thicker richer creamy product (something on the lines of the Kiehls Creamy Avocado Eye Cream). But this eye cream is not thick or heavy. It is in fact a light airy gel cream - nourishing & emollient, but still light. And it glides on really well. I love the texture!
The formula is alcohol free, fragrance free & essential oil free making it suitable for sensitive skin.
It absorbs beautifully into the skin & leaves a neutral finish - not shiny or greasy & non sticky. I use a small amount in my evening routine without fail, sometimes I even use it in the morning depending on how my eye area is feeling. Despite having the lighter texture it is very hydrating and makes the skin feel soothed, soft & plumped up. And did I mention that it sits well under makeup?
Stand out ingredients of me are
- Sunflower Seed Oil which is loaded with fatty acids (linoleic & oleic acids) & is wonderful for barrier support
- Caffeine - antioxidant & helps to depuff
- 4 Peptides - Acetyl Hexapeptide 8 gives an immediate smoothening effect ; Copper Tripeptide 1 which is collagen stimulating (will help with fine lines, wrinkles & improving skin elasticity) ; Oligopeptide 29 & 32
- Green tea extract - antioxidant & anti inflammatory
- Turmeric extract - antioxidant, anti inflammatory & brightening
- Panthenol - soothing
As far as gauging the effects on fine likes & wrinkles, it's not something I can answer now because it is difficult to assess things like this in a short span of time. I use eye creams as a preventative measure - to maintain the eye area as much as I can rather than waiting for deeper wrinkles to set in and trying to fix that later on. So, hopefully we can inspect the status of my under eyes together when I am 40 & see if using an eye cream all these years helped or not.
Price : 1600 INR or 24$ for 20g

If it wasn't clear from the review already, I really like this eye cream. The texture, the ingredients, the way it hydrates my eye area & nourishes it without being heavy, is fantastic. I have been using it for the past few months and I can safely say that it has not given me any milia. I am happy with it and will definitely repurchase once I finish this tube (pssst...the 20g tube will last really long!)
xoxo,
Swati
