Winter is setting in and I can totally see its effects on me. Dry stretchy skin, hair issues and chapped lips to get started. So my hunt for perfect winter products has begun. I am sure you must be stocking up too. This brings me to my review today. I wanted a heavy duty lip balm which would work magic on my chapped lips during the cold days. And when I came across the Biotique Overnight Therapy Lip Balm, I thought what could be better? Slather this on your lips at night and *swoosh* (that's the wand waving sound if I wasn't clear) wake up to baby soft lips.
Coming to the balm, it has the standard green tub Biotique packaging..sort of boring and unhygienic. I do not like lip balms in tubs, it is such a hassle to use them. But this was meant for overnight use and I compromised since I do not have to carry it around the entire day. It came with an extra lid inside (which I threw away).
Ingredients: Madhu (Honey), Vach (Acoruscalamus), Mulethi (Glycynhiza glabra), Was (Prun usamygdalus), Surajmukhi (Helianthus annus), Kashumbi (carthamus tincorius), Til (Sesamum indicum), Erandi (Ricinus communis), Marhum base Q.S.
The product has a spicy herbal and balm like smell (nothing close to almonds). It is quite heavy and it feels very waxy once applied. Very waxy! (did not like it at all). Also, I did not understand the inclusion of shimmer particles in a therapeutic balm. Why would one need shimmer in an overnight balm? Maybe they wanted to make the lips look kissable at night along with the healing...but since the texture is so waxy, let me tell you, there isn't much scope of kissing :P
It survives till the morning when I apply it at night, but it has absolutely no effect on my lips. It is supposed to replenish and repair lips but seriously it does nothing for me. Smriti tested this out too just too double check and yeah..it had no effect on her too. (I had such high hopes with this one...major disappointment).
Price: 99INR for 16g
Not repurchasing this one. There are better options available.
(I have a lot of this product left... need to use it up someway. Any suggestions? Has this worked for you?)
