Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencil Prunella : Review
Written by: Swati on:
We all agree that a basic black eye pencil is a must have for every girl. (The Amway Kajal Coal is my favourite and Smriti loves her Colossal). But let us not stop there. Don't you just love adding a pop of colour to your eyes somedays without having to use eyeshadows. This is where all those fun coloured eye pencils come in and the Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencil in Prunella is the most gorgeous purple I have come across..ever!
What Colorbar says: "Defines like a pencil and glides like liquid eyeliner. This effortlessly easy to use I-Glide Eye Pencil with its smooth formulation, gives your eyes rich colour in a single stroke and blends in easily after application. Lasts longer than 8 hours; does not feather or bleed."
The pencil comes in a silver plastic packaging with a coloured end, both if which makes it easy to locate. (I have been using mine for more than a year now which explains why my pencil is half its original size). The texture is soft and so creamy (don't worry..they will not break while using).
They glide beautifully on the lids...like a dream! They have good pigmentation and give you intense colour in one/two swipes. Smudge proof, water proof and great staying power (no bleeding, no fading)...what more do you want? Unless you use an oil or a makeup remover, this baby will stay on your lids for around 7-8 hours easily (If you want to use it in a smokey effect, you better work like a ninja and smudge it withing 10-15 seconds). I have used it on my upperlids and on my waterline too and this one does not irritate my eyes (I do not wear lenses but my eyes are super watery).
Prunella, as I mentioned earlier, is one of the most gorgeous purples you can find. A warm aubergine/eggplant purple that will work well when worn to office or for a fun outing. It is just one of those shades you know, gives you the perfect hint of colour. Not the popping eye catching kinds but it is not boring either. It has very fine shimmer in it which gives it a beautiful sheen.
It works great with neutral eyes, or a purple-plum look. On lazy days I use this with a black kajal on my waterline and lower lash area and it looks pretty. With some effort you can use this for a smokey eye too.
The only issue I face with this one is product wastage. It is a pencil that you need to sharpen and this does waste the product, but the pencil is so soft that it breaks sometimes and leads to more than normal wastage. It is also difficult to get that perfect pointed tip with this. And since they are so soft, they will get blunt with just a few swipes, so I need to sharpen this a lot more compared to others.
And the fact that Colorbar is forever increasing its prices :(
Overall, Prunella is one of the prettiest purple (how many times have I said this already?), very wearable, super creamy and if only it was easier to sharpen this would have been so so perfect. With the increasing prices, this isn't a budget product anymore, but if you are on the lookout of a purple pencil liner, you must check this one out :)
