SoulFlower Pink For Skin Soap : Review

Written by: Smriti on:

Hi everyone!

I've declared my love for Soul Flower so emphatically on this blog, I'm pretty sure even aliens have heard about it :P
We have spoken about their Happy Feet soap a while back. Here's another quick feature of their 100% veg, organic soap in the variant Pink for Skin.

For the past few years, I have indulged in handmade/organic soaps every now and then. Khadi India makes a few really affordable ones, I like the mint, honey, and lavender variants. Lilac Soaps is another brand with excellent soaps, I'm very partial to Shararat! We even covered a tried and tested charcoal soap on the blog for all the men in your life!

SoulFlower Pink For Skin Soap review

Organic soaps are packed with goodness, so don't hesitate to pick them up!
A little background on Soul Flower's veg organic soaps :
SoulFlower soap is made with vegetable oils of olive, rice bran, castor, coconut and palm. During the natural saponification of these oils, soap is produced. Glycerin is a natural by-product of our soap-making and has humectant properties which draws moisture to your skin, making it softer and smoother, one of the reasons that our soaps are so beautiful on the skin.
Out of the huge selection of soaps that the brand offers, the ingredients of Pink for Skin really drew my interest. It contains fresh strawberries, pink clay, Vitamin E, glycerin, aqua, fresh cream, cocoa butter, and olive, rice bran, castor, coconut, palm and palm kernel oils.

SoulFlower Pink For Skin Soap review

Although I have just begun using it, I cannot say how much I love the fragrance of this soap! It smells like crushed strawberries, sweet and so feminine! Soul Flower has captured the experience quite aptly with the soap's description and I whole-heartedly agree with it!
Would you like to start your day with a bowl of fresh cream & strawberries, and oatmeal? One whiff of our fresh strawberry Pink for Skin will make you jump out of bed and into the shower! This breakfast for your skin does a miraculous job on pimples; oats scrub all the grime away, gently removing excess sebum oils. Cream and cocoa give a thick creamy lather to this soap. This soap will surely leave you with baby soft rosy skin!
Soul Flower soaps do not contain artificial hardeners and preservatives. For this reason they need proper storage to extend the shelf life. The soap bar is quite large, and I have cut it into 4 slices to use on my face. The slice I am currently using is always air dried properly, and the other three are stored in an airtight container.
I dampen my face first and then rub the bar directly onto the skin. This methods works best for me as it ensures mild scrubbing too.

With a month of judicious use, I still have half of my slice left! I'm very very impressed! The soap is soft, and melts away into glorious lather in an instant, but if you use it right, Pink for my Skin will last you quite long.

For warmer months, this soap is perfect. The fresh aroma of strawberries ensures a decadent experience, and the lather washes away to reveal clean and energized skin! However, during the winter, my dry skin felt slightly stretchy and I needed to follow up immediately with oil.

My skin, thank god, has finally learnt to behave well and I'm very concerned with keeping it that way! I'm pleased that Pink for My Skin preserved the balance; no breakouts, no excessive dryness, no itching. I'd buy it again without any qualms, although I really want to try out Light Me Up next...
