Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick 531 : Review
Written by: Swati on:
You know how I always say that almost till two years back I was a only a nude brown lip person? I hated wearing any other colour and yes, no how much my friends said that pinks did not look bad on me, I never believed them. I was being quite stubborn. Thankfully, that's changed and now I am in love with pinks and corals and other colours too!
Anyway, Lakme Enrich Satin in 531 was my second lipstick. I had just statred getting into makeup and I was in the whole brown phase. Here's a short review :)
You know the packaging, it has been the same since forever. It's sturdy, travel friendly and a bit boring. But I guess that's ok. I wish the shades had names instead of numbers.
The texture is creamy and they glide smoothly and easily. It does not settle into the fine lines and gives a slight glossy look. The pigmentation is good. Unlike 352 (the red one) which does get a bit dry after a few hours, 531 does not feel drying. Staying power is not very long, 2- 2 and 1/2 hours is what I get with this and it will certainly not survive a meal.
531 was launched in their Gypsy collection. It is a muddy brown shade with yellow undertones. I wear this when I am usually doing heavy smokey eyes or a very neutral look. Honestly, this is a shade that I used a lot when I bought it, but I do not use it regularly anymore (I wish I had bought 129 instead now which was also on my list..but I am going to get it soon :D). 531, just looks a bit off to me now. How tastes change over time!
Here are the swatches: (Smriti has naturally pinker lips than me, so it looks very different on both of us).
Just to give you a rough idea on how it looks on me (please do not judge the bare face. I am not keeping well and had no energy to do anything else..sorry).
Price: 225 INR
I don't really know what else to say about this. It might work for you or not and so I would strongly advise you to go try it at the counter once if you are planning to buy it. I will certainly not be repurchasing it..it does nothing for my face. What do you think?
