L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner, Pure Purple : Review & Swatches
Written by: Swati on:
L'Oreal comes out with a new collection each year with the Cannes film Festival. Among this years collection, I was most excited about the Mega Gloss (already reviewed here) and the Silkissime Eyeliner.
The reviews I had read were great and this particular variant, Pure Purple caught my eye the most. Though I resisted buying it for quite a while and then this happened :
Inner Voice : "You don't need another colored liner! Don't give in to temptation"
Me : Ok...! (Picks it up and stares at it wistfully)
Inner Voice : "Drop it right now girl!"
Me: OK OK! (running out of the store before I get lured completely)
Has a bad day at work.... "Hmmmm...I need to set my mood right"...Pops into the nearest Health & Glow...Walks out 5 minutes later, Pure Purple in my had...a megawatt smile on my face" :D
Pssst... I always love to add a good colored liner in my stash.
"Indulge your eyes in silk. Glide on smooth intensity with our first silk inspired liquid pencil. Introducing Silkissime by Infallible. Our smudge-proof formula lasts for up to 16-hours of intense color from dusk until dawn."
These are available is various colors - Plum, Gold, Silver, Cobalt Blue, True Teal, Charcoal, Black. I wish they had a brown in the collection too.
These are available in a standard sharpenable pencil form, with a colored body. Identifying them in your collection is hence quite easy. I wished they were in a retractable pencil form. As sharpening leads to a lot of product wastage (plus requires effort especially when you are in a hurry).
The texture of these is super super creamy. It glides on very smoothly, like butter...oh wait... SILK! (I think it is easily the smoothest eye pencil I have used so far. You have to test it out at the counter to know what I am talking about). The downside of this being, it gets blunt with just one use! *argh* So much sharpening each time!
I normally use a colored liner, on my lower lash line, and this being very creamy has a tendency to get stuck on the lashes, so remember to clean it up after.
These last the whole day. Rains, heat whatever, these won't budge at all. I haven't seen any fading/flaking nor have I faced any irritations.
Pure Purple, as the name suggest, is a true purple, slightly jewel toned which would suit Indian skintones a lot. it would look fabulous on brown eyes (Purple makes brown eyes pop!). It has a satiny finish and no glitter/shimmer.
Price : 575 INR for 1.1g
The Silkissime liners are definitely worth a buy. They aren't priced outrageously. The texture, pigmentation and colors of the range are beautiful (I am eyeing the Gold and Plum one) and these last super long. Do try them out!
Which is your favourite shade in this range?
