Nivea Lemon & Oil Shower Gel : Review

If there is one thing that I look for in my bath and bodycare products, it's a nice fresh fragrance. Don't get me wrong, I like soothing ones as well, but honestly, I just have to smell something citrusy and bam! I go weak in the knees :D Leave it to the slight tang of lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, bergamot etc to kick-start your day with a rush of freshness!
Nivea is a brand I highly trust. From their lip balms, to their body lotions, to their shower gels, I love them all. So when I came across their Lemon & Oil shower gel, I promptly plonked it into my cart without any doubts. I'm so glad I did!
The gel comes packed in a transparent bottle with a blue flip-top cap. Now I moved into a new hostel recently and there was a lot of unceremonious throwing around of my luggage. Why I'm mentioning this here is because now I know for sure just how leak-proof Nivea makes their bodywashes. Trust me, not a single drop spilled out, no stickiness on the bottle whatsoever! Ah, thank you Nivea!
The shower gel itself is a pale green with yellow pearls suspended in it. The fragrance is very very revitalizing. Just enough to fill your bathroom with a fresh citrusy aroma, but not over-poweringly lemony. The pearls are nothing but oil beads that burst under slight pressure. The texture is medium runny and light, it lathers well with a loofah and cleanses superbly. The oil content doesn't leave my skin dried out. There is a slight residue left behind and with my dry skin, I just follow up with a light body lotion and my skin is happy :)
The fragrance doesn't last beyond your bathroom though. It's a real shame considering how energizing it is! I wish Nivea comes out with a body lotion of this variant, I'd really like that!

This shower gel may just be my staple during the summer months, I'm loving it so much :) I have a couple of more body washes that I'll be reviewing soon, so watch out for them and then you can choose accordingly!
