Fabindia Clove Gel Face Pack : Review

Most of us have been through that phase when it seemed like our skin had a mind of its own. A few have successfully conquered that phase and some are still battling it. I have an oily skin which back in college would just not behave like I wanted it to. It was frustrating really, every other day a new pimple would decide to say hello. I fought a long war against them (following many things) and thankfully they are reduced drastically now (well one or two still show up sometimes but very infrequently). Fabindia Clove Gel Face Pack was one of the many things that helped me tame my skin. I still use it once in a while and the tub is almost over now, so I must share it with you all :)
What intrigued me was the "gel face pack"...that alone made me pick up the product. I had never tried a gel pack before. And all of us know that clove is beneficial for those stupid pimples and acne.
It makes my skin look healthy, clear and reduces the redness of the pimples. I woke up to brighter looking skin the next day. It does control oil to a certain extent. It really helped me a lot to get acne and pimple free. These days I use it just as a spot treatment. Helps in healing the occasional pimples and stops the developing ones too. Totally lived up to its claims.
The only downside I found is that is has chemicals and preservatives, which I do not expect from an organic brand. And yes, the tub packaging. But as long as this works for me I am not complaining. Oily skinned women and men who face acne and pimple problems should give this a try.

The packaging is the fabindia standard tub one. Not very hygienic, I would prefer a tube, but then I can make do with this too. The tub is sturdy and has an additional plastic lid inside. It has a very strong clove and cinnamon fragrance, herbal and a bit menthol like. Sensitive noses will not like it much. But if you can overlook this, the product works really great.
The gel looks creamy transparent in the tub but goes on clear on application. It did sting a lot when I used it for the first time (might hold true for senstitive skin types as well) but now I do not feel it anymore, just some mild tingling and cooling sensation. The gel disappears into the skin on drying and it feels like a very thin layer. No stretchy or heavy feeling. I keep it on for 20- 25 minutes. Washing it off takes longer than other packs though and feels a little weird since the film gets slightly gooey.

Definitely. It works really nicely for me. One tub lasts a long long time. (Smriti and me gave a tub to our aunt as well who recommends it highly too).
