Lakmé 9 to 5 Lipstick Coffee Command : Review
Written by: Smriti on:
Okaaaay, Number 3 is up and it's Coffee Command!
When I first looked at Toffee Nexus and this at the counter, I thought they looked pretty much the same. It's only when I applied them did I find an unmistakable difference between the two. Both are shades of peach with different undertones- Toffee Nexus is a pinky peach that works as brilliant MLBB shade for me, and Coffee Command is an orangey peach with subtle hints of brown. I'd say Coffee Command would work as a nice MLBB for wheatish to dark skin tones.
Personally, I use this shade when I'm in the mood for a ethnic look. Coffee Command's warmth complements Indian skin very well, and it isn't a brown that sucks all life right out of your face, thank God (do I need to remind you of the earlier browns Lakmé had?). Even though it is a muted shade, it does not lack pigmentation at all. You get opaque coverage in two swipes.

Layering these 9 to 5 lipsticks causes dryness and settling of the pigment into the fine lines of your lips. Also, do not reapply them directly. Make sure you wipe off all residues before you touch up your lipstick, otherwise like me, you'll end up with horrible patchiness. (You can read more about the formula of the lipstick here.) It stays for 6 hours without any problems, thereafter it may fade a bit. Also, it does survive light meals and occasional snacking.
The highest plus point for me is it's light weight texture. I almost forget I have any product on! And of course the absoltue matte effect looks uber-sultry ;) It's ideal for office goers and college students. 9 to 5 lipsticks are a definite hit for me, I can't wait to get my hands on a couple more!
P.S. We captured these swatches at different times of the day, just to show you how the colour changes according to the light.
