DIY: Light Bulb Hanging Vase

Written by: Swati on:

Hello!
We are sharing another inspiration in a quick post today. This one looks really pretty and barely takes 5 minutes. Sure you can spare that much, yes? And a bit of recycling is always good!

What you need:

  • An old light bulb (which is not working anymore)
  • Strong thread
  • Water
  • A plant

Here's what you do:

  • Empty the old light bulb and clean it throughly.
  • Tie your string/ thread to the two holes at the rim of the bulb. Make sure you use strong thread. We doubled ours to give more strength.
  • Tie a knot at the desired length at which you want the bulb to hang.
  • Fill the bulb with clean water.
  • Cut a few twigs of the plant you want and arrange it inside the bulb (make sure not to over stuff the bulb and to pick a plant that will grow in water or can stay for a long period of time in water).

Thats it!
Now, go hang it where ever you want. We hung this in the kitchen (must make one for the washroom too... we think it will look good there as well).
You could also arrange flowers in it if you like.
Recycle and pretty up your place! :)
