A while back I found them online at a good discount, and before I knew it, it was added to the cart and ordered :D
The size of the brush is good and fits in the hand quite well. It is also a decent size to be carried around, though a lot bulkier than a regular brush.
It comes with a click on cover which protects the bristles and makes the compact styler better to be carried around than the original Tangle Teezer.
"Do you want all the detangling genius of a Tangle Teezer hairbrush available wherever you go? Have no fear, the Compact Styler hairbrush is here! This revolutionary brush fits perfectly into your handbag and the innovative removable cover protects those wonderful flexi teeth from dust, fluff and dirt, giving you fuss free, knot free hair on the move".
There are alternate short and long bristles all over the brush, which flex as your move it along the hair. It feels quite stimulating when brushed on the scalp, I can feel it make the blood flow...know the feeling I am talking about yes?
Since the bristles flex as you move the brush, they cause less breakage and damage to the hair. I find it very effective to use on damp hair after wash, it does a good job of untangling all the knots without tugging and pulling the hair.
Yes, since I have straight hair, it is possible to achieve similar results with a wide toothed comb as well. But if you have curly/wavy hair, you know how pesky those hair knots can be.
I also see it coming in very hand say at a beach...where the wind can play havoc ti your hair and make it look like a nest!
It isn't quite a must have for me, my hair is pretty well behaved mostly. I do enjoy using it though and it helps a lot in controlling hair breakage. But I can see it being really effective if you have thicker, frizzy, coarser and longer hair, since those tend to get knotted very easily. It can be used on both dry and wet hair and certainly does minimize hair damage/breakage from pulling and tugging. They have different variants for different purposes. You can check them out here and see which one would suit your needs :)
