Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter in Molten Gold

We at C&D love highlighters! Smriti of course has a bit more affection towards them than me, but I love them too. Perfect to add a bit on glow to your skin and make it look fabulous, a good hihlighter is a must in every makeup stash!

I always found that there was a lack of good powder highlighters in the Indian drugstore, most of them being chalky or too glittery... which is why for a long time my go to highlighter was theBalm Mary Lou-Manizer (reviewed here). I still love it a lot and it will be a part of stash for years to come, but it is difficult to recommend it to people, especially if they are on a budget.

Naturally, I was very excited when Maybelline launched their Master Chrome highlighter here, having read good reviews about it already. Let's take a look, shall we?

My Top 5 Favourite Face Masks!

I have tried a fair share of prodcuts over the years. A lot of them did not work out for me, a few did okay and some just blew my mind!
While I was very much focused on makeup back in college days, skincare has become a new passion for me and has become a top priority. How I wish I had realized this earlier and paid more attention to skincare while growing up. Better late than never though!

Masks have always been an all time staple in my skincare routine. I used many simple homemade ones back in the day, but college time onwards I got more used to the boxed ones. I still use the DIYs but love these ready to use one too.

Here are a few of my current and all time favourites! Take a look!

Poppy Sauvage : The New Must Have Red! (Estee Lauder by Violette Collection)

If you love beauty, you must be aware of Violette and her debut collection with Estee Lauder-Poppy Sauvage

Pure Color Envy Paint On Liquid Lipcolor in Poppy Sauvage review, Poppy Savuge review, Poppy Sauvage swatch, Estee Lauder Poppy Sauvage

We love Violette (a french makeup artist) for her classic Parisian style and easy tutorials. Her sophisticated but effortless style to beauty and makeup is exactly what we like. We love the way she experiments with makeup looks - touch of glitter, bold lip, dark eyes...everything is covered. But in a lovely wearable way! Always some "Va-Va-Voom" like she says! It is no wonder that her collection was right up our street!

Come Meet POPPY SAUVAGE! (Estee Lauder x Violette collection)

I'm so happy!

We're finally at a place where women are beginning to accept themselves for who they are, celebrating their flaws, being the best version of themselves, taking the world by storm.

Every day I feel this change within myself. I'm using less makeup, and being more, well... me. Easy, effortless, imperfect. Throw in a little Va va voom and you've got yourself a really good thing!

Estee lauder Poppy Sauvage Collection review, Estee Lauder by Violette Poppy Sauvage collection, Estee Lauder Poppy Sauvage collection india

And that's precisely what Violette embodies. A self-taught French makeup artist, now Estée Lauder's global beauty director (much deserved!) she is a mighty ripple in the makeup industry, teaching women how to look polished, but with an air of delicate nonchalance.

Poppy Sauvage is her debut collectioninspired by her memories of French poppy fields, morning dew on petals, and golden wheat fields turning copper in the sunset. I love how the entire collection evokes such powerful imagery with its hues, and also, is so versatile!

Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment

I am a lazy bum when it comes going to a salon...which means I go in for a facial/cleanup say once in a year that too if I really really need it. Most of my skincare needs and requirements are taken care at home (which also means I have a small army of products that help me target specific issues).

When it comes to the issue of clogged pores/whiteheads/blackheads I was previously using the Innisfree Supervolcanic Pore Clay Mask which works pretty well but it is all about upping your game and discovering better products, yes? So after some contemplation I decided to give the much hyped Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment a go. Luckily Nykaa has a smaller tub (that did not me feel too guilty about burning a hole in my pocket) which I could try out before going in for the full size. I have used it a couple of times on myself and on 2 other people who also have notorious blackhead problems and here's what I think:

One Plus 6 – One Week In

Once the dust has settled down, and once the actual early adopters of the world have played around with it, a much clearer picture of the One Plus 6 begins to emerge. We’ve had the latest iteration of the OnePlus phones (the flagship killers) for about a week now, and we pretty much have nothing but good things to say about it. And this has been true for pretty much all the OnePlus phones we have ever seen or used. And we’ve used a few, which even till today, are fairly relevant (the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5 for example).
One Plus 6 review, One Plus 6 india, One Plus 6 india review, One Plus 6 blog review

Now to get the preliminaries sorted out, we’ve had the OnePlus 6, 128 GB, Mirror Black finish model since the date of launch. And we’ve put it through most daily tasks, browsing, watching Youtube Videos, taking photographs, booking Olas/Ubers and also as an actual phone to talk to people. Pretty much the only thing that it hasn’t been used for is heavy gaming, despite there being a specific gaming mode. Let’s be honest, we’re casual users, but like to know that we have enough power in the tank for more if need be.
All right, the preliminaries are over- On to the phone!

New Additions In My Stash: Forest Essentials (Mini Haul) + First Impressions

For the past few months I have been really enjoying products from Forest Essentials. This brand isn't new to me, no, I had a couple of their products in my stash and like them a lot (Narangi and Nagkesar Ubtan, Light Hydrating Eye Gel, Sweet Narangi Lip Balm).
The last couple of months saw me dig a little more into their products and here are my thoughts about them:

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

Pumpkin - a vegetable I have never been able to take a liking to. There's just something about it which makes me feel ewww-ish. But what smells like pumpkin (with hints of cinnamon) that I can never say no to? The Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask Dermal Resurfacer! That's a mouthful isn't it? But boy, oh boy! This mask is all kinds of amazing! It is really, really the next level of masks!

When it comes to masks, the market is flooded with clarifying mud masks, hydrating masks, cleansing masks, detoxifying masks... you name the concern and there is a mask out there for it. But not that many which claim to exfoliate and resurface the skin. Which is why I like love the PTR Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. It resurfaces, exfoliates, peels and polishes all in 1! Sounds great, right? It is!

OPI Tickle My France-y

It has been quite a since I shared a nailpolish here on the blog. Well, I hadn't picked any new ones for a while so that is one of the reasons, and secondly, I was keeping my nails bare off late.

Anyway, one of my favourite nude-y colors to wear was the Maybelline Superstay Gel Polish in Rose Poudre (swatched here). And like all things that I like, it had to be discontinued. I have been looking for a new bottle everywhere and I just cannot find it. So I had to find a replacement of course and the OPI Tickle My France-y caught my attention!

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Colour

One of the launches from Bobbi Brown that I was super excited about were the Crushed Lip Colors. The way they were described was dreamy and I couldn't wait to give them a try! It is said to be inspired by the effortless and easy beauty routines of the brand’s girl crushes. Undone beauty, just a hint of lip color, effortless barely there makeup look? Yeah, I’m sold!
Finally, after some wait I got my hands on 2 shades (after a lot of contemplation and resisting picking up 4 more!). Take a look...

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

When it comes to eye creams, I jumped on the wagon a lot later than the recommended age which came with its downside - I have quite dry skin around my eyes...to the point that my inner corners are way darker (dry skin= constant irritation = very frequent rubbing = frictional darkness...well, that's my assumption) and some fine lines. Oh! how I wish I had started eye care earlier!
If I am not wrong, I have only started to use eye creams religiously over the past 1 1/2 years. The previous occasional once a week does not really count.

Fast forward now, I WILL apply an eye cream every morning and night. Without fail (except for a rare late night, when I have been found guilty of skipping it only to regret it next morning). Mornings see me using a lighter eye cream; a heavier one in the night. It was on a pursuit to find a good night eye cream that I finally picked up the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment. The price tag stopped me from getting this one for a long time!. But, it is famous since years...there has to be reason right? I had to find out!

Dr Sheth's, Part I : Daily Cleanser, Youth Glotion and Daily Peel

You know my love for skincare by now (I hope). I love to give new promising sounding products a try and I am always on a quest to find better products that deliver more. When Dr Sheth's came out with their range of products, I had to try them out! Afterall, these products are developed by Dr Rekha Sheth and tailored especially for Indian skin!

I started with the Basic Brightening Youth Glotion (as I was on the lookout of a daily moisturizer then) and then added the Basic Brightening Daily Cleanser and Extra Gentle Daily Peel to the stash too.
It has been over a month of using these products and it is time I shared my thoughts with you all.

Forest Essentials Rasa Activating Serum

If you have been following me on Instagram, you must be aware of my new love for Forest Essentials. Not that I did not like the brand before, I had a couple of items in my stash, but over the past couple of months, that number has increased a lot! My love for skincare is growing each day (read - turning into an obsession), and with that I am trying out for better products everytime.

When it comes to skincare, serums are one of my favourites. I was using a night one, but needed a good one for the day as well. I previously tried the Innisfree Green Tea serum, which sadly did not do anything much for me (I know a lot of you like it though, so don't hate me for saying this). And then Forest Essentials launched their new Rasa Activating Serum which sounded lovely. Of course I had to give it a shot!

Smashbox Photofinish Primerizer

I do not use much makeup on an everyday basis. The days when I do use makeup, I tend to skip foundation/bb/cc creams. Yeah, I am not too much into base makeup...yet. But the one thing I do like using is primer (that is on days I do reach out for some makeup). For the longest time my go-to/favourite primer was, and still is (for different purposes which I shall talk about a little later) the L'oreal Base Magique.
A few months back (blame YouTube!) I got very curious about the new Smashbox Primerizer.... primeri..what? You see it is a primer + moisturizer 2-in-1. Get it now?

Forest Essentials Hand Pounded Organic Fruit Scrub : Review

I love a good face scrub. Living amidst all the dirt and pollution today, not to forget the accumulation of dead skin too, there is something extremely satisfying about scrubbing all that grime off your face!
Most of us follow our usual CTM routine, but exfoliation is also a very important step that a lot of us tend to forget.
Last year ie 2017 I shifted mostly towards chemical exfoliation (due to a bout of active acne), and while I still love the process, I love a good physical exfoliant too. Keeping both options in the stash is always good....and I pick one depending on how my skin feels.

An old favourite of mine is the Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Brightening Scrub but I had some good things about the Forest Essentials Organic Fruit Scrub so after a lot of thought (this thing is expensive afterall !!) I finally picked it up. I have been using it for over 2 months now and here is what I think.

Try Out Delicious Healthy Snacks To Stay Fit

Eating healthy doesn't have to be a torture. In fact, you can eat healthy, eat delicious, and stay fit!
As fitness enthusiasts at Eatfit Curefit, we're always on the lookout for healthy snacks and guilt-free eating. Although snacking loads up empty calories but that is only when you opt for junk foods. There are healthier options that make you leaner, fitter, and simply killer, in terms of achieving that athletic body and performance.
Try out these healthy snacks and experience a difference immediately.

Beet Juice
If endurance and working out well are your priority, gulping down an ounce of fresh seasonal beet juice will help. Beet juice improves stamina and bolsters performance in ways that even training hard won't achieve. Try out beets and become the best!

Pea Protein
Pea protein powder has been gaining buzz in the fitness community for quite some time now. Pea protein powder is known to delay muscle fatigue and is rich in Arginine and branched chain amino acids. It boosts calcium absorption and improves bone density too! Try it out for a healthy snack time and you can even blend it with nuts or berries into a delicious evening smoothie with Eatfit Curefit!

Baked Kale Chips
Kale chips are surprisingly healthier than modern salty potato chips. Plus they are good for you since they are low in calories and a great source of protein and essential vitamins (A, C, K, and B6) . The added fiber and calcium content in them is a bonus too!

The Blueberry Solution
Whether you're throwing in a couple of blueberries into your daily salads, blending them into a smoothie, or having a nice fine bunch plain and simple raw, blueberries are good for you (and your body). Blueberries fight muscle inflammation and boost natural killer cells in the body which are vital toward good immunity. Keep a couple of frozen dried blueberries in the fridge for those unexpected snack times for a healthy spin.

Tart Cherries
According to a research conducted by the University of Vermont's Human Performance Laboratory, tart cherries reduce pain and recover strength when consumed either blended or raw in athletes. If it works for the professionals, it will definitely work for you. Fresh tart cherries during the late summers, or 100% organic tart cherry juice will aid in your strength training routines tremendously.

Salmon
For all fitness nuts and buffs out there, if you're looking to pack on some muscle or build up abs, try eating fatty fish types like salmon. Besides warding off the risk of heart disease and providing you essential Omega-3 fatty acids, Salmon builds new protein issues in skeletal muscles and is a potent muscle-booster.

Watercress
Recent studies state that watercress is ideal for countering the "wear and tear" effects of workouts and even significantly reduces DNA damage when consumed long-term. Just like spinach and kale, throw in a little watercress in your smoothies or eat them with salads before workouts for immediate effects.

Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate fixes your mood plus gives you higher antioxidant levels in the blood. Enjoy a couple squares of dark chocolate a day and mix them in with smoothies, fresh fruit, or oatmeal to experience reduced exercise-induced stress after workouts. Dark chocolate squares help you kick back and relax, and reward you with de-stressing after a hard day of workout. And what better reward than a little sweet dessert, eh?

Conclusion
Try out these healthy snacks and healthy diet  and you will positively feel a difference the next time you hit the gym. We promise, you try, and your body will soon deliver.
