theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer : Swatches, Review

I tried my hand at contouring finally around July last year and after the first few tries, I really liked how it carved some cheeks out of all the chubbiness going on and also made my jaw line a bit sharper! Boy, was I missing out on things! :D

So, while I picked up the Freedom Bronzed Professional (full review here) initially as a beginner, the makeup lover in me had an eye on theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer since the very beginning!
Don't think that the Freedom one did not perform well, it did, and I still use it many days....It's just that a makeup geek can never stop at one! :D
And ever since I have tried the Mary Lou Manizer (reviewed here) from the brand, I had been dying to try out more products from theBalm.

Zara Woman, Pear & White Flowers EDT : Review

I don't know about you, but when I am in Zara, I cannot leave the place without taking a stroll by their fragrance shelves. I found one of my favourite perfumes in Zara about 2 years back (more on that one some other day...soon!) and ever since I always look out for more :)

On one such random stroll, I found the Zara Pear and White Flowers. One whiff of this one and I was sold! Not to mention that they had the fragrance in a small bottle with a roller ball head, making it super ideal to carry in your handbag (and I had been on the lookout for a perfume I could carry around!). It seemed like this was made for me :) :)

Summer OOTD #1

Summers are pretty much intolerable in our country. And this year Bangalore has been sorching as well. Gone are the rainy windy evenings that were so typical of the city.
So, what do you do when the temperature is rising with each passing day? Keep those full pants and jeggings away and pull out your stack of shorts to dress comfy!

Here's a quick OOTD we did on one such summer evening.

March 2017 Empties!

These empties posts are being such a saviour and actually making me use up instead of just stashing them away. It is also being a great way to see what are the things I keep repurchasing (which make it to the HG list). So here's what I have used up in March :)

OGX Gravity-Defying & Hydration O2, Weightless Oil + Lifting Tonic : Review

I have a thing for bi-phased products. It feels almost like alchemy, like there's a pinch of marvellous science in my stash!

That's what you get with an over-active imagination. My thoughts run amok too easily :D

This spray by OGX (earlier called Organix) is however, a brilliant potion that looked too pretty to give a pass, and turned out good enough to warrant a blog post with just 3 weeks of use!

Aroma Magic Aloe Vera Sunscreen Gel SPF 20 : Review

Hello, hello! Summer's here! And with the heat comes skin damage, photo-ageing and all the things we whole-heartedly want to avoid.

I am a sunscreen chameleon. I keep a few different formulations and switch between them according to the needs of my skin and the demands of the weather. One of them is this gel by Aroma Magic, a brand I absolutely worship. If you're looking for a sunscreen to combat high humidity, this is it!

L'Oreal Paris Dermo-Expertise HydraFresh Deep Boosting Essence : Review

Last summer, I had mentioned how I like to change my skin care routine according to the season. Spring draws the line between the more emollient products I own, and those which focus solely on hydration. Simply put, creams and butters are for winter as they form a barrier against the cold and prevent loss of moisture from your skin.
As the temperature rises, our skin needs to perspire in order to keep cool. Using creams hinders this mechanism and hence breaks you out. Hydrating products quench your skin's thirst because of all the sweating, and do not block your pores which may lead to break outs (unless you're allergic to an ingredient, of course).

So that's that and now you're all familiar with the fundamentals! So let's check out this hydrating essence that promises to boost your skin!

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil. It's finally here!

While the lip oil trend has been around for a couple of years, it has only recently (and finally!) hit the Indian market with Clarins releasing their much-loved-and-raved about Lip Oils a few weeks ago

Amen! I was lusting after these for a long time time and cannot describe how excited I was to get my hands on one. So as a Valentine's Day gift to me (it is a tradition I have been following for a few years now), I treated myself to the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Raspberry :) :) :)

Serozinc : The one thing you must try from La Roche-Posay!

I have obviously heard a lot about La Roche Posay and my sensitive skin was super eager to give their products a go. My first purchase from the brand was the cult Effaclar Duo + which sadly did not work out as well on my skin as I hoped it would have.
Another product which had been on my list forever was Serozinc, which sadly was not available in India anywhere. Imagine my ecstasy when Nykaa finally launched it. It took me not more than 2 minutes to place the order and 2 days later, my Serozinc came to me! :)

I love coffee, period. I mean, I love it so much that I went and started a coffee startup on the side, just because I couldn’t find a decent blend of coffee.. I’ll let you in on an insider secret, your beloved blogger and my boss Swati is crazy about cold coffee and has a process for it and gets cranky if it’s made any other way. That’s how big a role coffee plays in a life.

So when we came across Man Cave Inc.’s Caffeine Shampoo, We didn’t blink twice in adding it to the cart. I must add here, that I haven’t been disappointed in the least.

Who remembers running around from one college to other, trying to cover as many as possible? Standing in long queues for forms and brochures? Can I sense a nod from you?

What Dermaroller Can Do to Protect and Repair Your Skin

Your skin is the biggest organ your body has, and it's also the only one that is on the outside instead of the inside. That leaves it very susceptible to damage from the weather, too much exposure to the sun, and all of the chemicals you are around in your lifetime. Between that and the fact that levels of natural cellular protectors like collagen and Human growth Hormone (HGH) drop off with age, it's no wonder that skin problems can increase as you get older. That's why skin treatments like Dermaroller are so important.

Charcoal: Activated! The Man Co. Cleansing Trio : Review

By Ashish Gyan

I’ll let you in on a secret people; the elixir of radiant beauty could be lurking in your barbecue! Don’t give curious sighs yet, read on!
There is an increasing user and fan base for a new, (well, shall I say repackaged and revamped), trend that has taken the grooming and wellness industry by storm. The stuff I am talking about is charcoal and grooming products infused with charcoal, from shower gels to face masks and even toothpastes have taken us by storm.

A Little History :
The times were prehistoric and our ancestors followed the unusual practice of eating charcoal. Native Indians consumed charcoal mixed with water as a cure for ailing tummies and the aborigines have been known to use this for wounds.

Egyptians, back in 1500 BC, used charcoal to treat decaying wounds and intestinal disorders.
Hippocrates and Pliny, recorded in 400 BC, the use of charcoal to treat a variety of diseases including epilepsy and anthrax.

A Little Science :
The therapeutic wonders of charcoal are because of its ability to physically trap other substances. Charcoal can bind to other compounds including various toxins, organic materials, gases, and even microorganisms thereby rendering them inactive.

Although the feel and look of charcoal is solid, it is primarily a carbon skeleton possessing a labyrinth of microscopic pores and tunnels.

Once applied, charcoal binds with the toxin particles forming a stable toxin-charcoal complex. Since the pores safely conceal the foreign particles, they do not get a chance to harm our tissues. This in turn prevents enzymes reacting upon the toxins thus eliminating the risk of poisons being metabolised and harming the liver tissues.

5 Best Gifts for Newborns

Babies indeed hold some magic dust; their presence is enough to transform the mood and feelings around you. These precious tiny tots deserve to be loved and pampered. Their arrival itself is a celebration.

This celebration to welcome the cherished life into our lives is often marked by several gifts and the most popular among them is jewelry. Most popular baby jewelry selections are primarily accessories like bracelets and anklets, although some parents have their heart set on necklaces and pendants, others can’t wait to buy their baby his/ her first pair of diamond earrings.

Also, buying jewelry comes easy with e-retailers like CaratLane. Buying jewelry has become not only convenient; but also, authentic, as most sites also provide gold purity certificates.
Some of the best-suited jewelry options for your little ones are.

L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Color in Lolita : Review

Does anyone else feel like the spectrum of Shine Caresse is flooded with colours of Spring/Summer? It's like each of the different shades was perfected to make your pout gorgeous even under the harsh sun! We admire and worship this range, as you will know from our previous posts, and seeing them on sale.. *_* These babies were so coming home!!!

Swati and my Mom both are ardent fans of the shade Bella and then she also added Faye to her collection. Surprisingly, I didn't own any, so I got Lolita for myself, and Milady for my sister. Let's jump straight into it, ladies!

Maybelline Velvet Matte by Color Sensational - Mat 6 : Review

When Maybelline first came out with their Lip Polishes, I picked up Glam 19 and Glam 9, because the colours were gorgeous, and the packaging was so cute! Lipstick bullet inside a clear case, but oh wait, it's a gloss that unscrews from the other end! I remember being fascinated by it, running to the counter to investigate further :)

Maybelline Velvet Matte review, Maybelline Velvet Matte Mat 6 review

The lip polishes are old members of my stash now, and while I'm in love with their packaging, the formula is quite thick and glossy which I feel doesn't suit my full lips the best. So when the Velvet Mattes came out I was as excited as a bunny, but only purchased it a few months ago when it was so marked down on sale, I couldn't resist! Being a beautiful winter shade, it's time I shared it on the blog :)

Aroma Magic Hair Revitalising Serum - Review

Since the past year or so I've been suffering from significant hairfall. I don't know if it is part of a normal cyclical turnover of hairs, or because of my amazingly skewed diet and deficiency of nutrition, I have been running from pillar to post in an attempt to rescue myself from baldness!

My arsenal includes castor oil, olive oil, coconut oil, Patanjali's Kesh Kanti oil, rosemary essential oil, a couple of deep conditioners, and the latest is this revitalising serum by Aroma Magic. Unlike the other treatments which have to be washed off, this is something I can leave on my scalp post-shampooing and be assured that it is nourished.

SoulFlower Pink For Skin Soap : Review

Hi everyone!

I've declared my love for Soul Flower so emphatically on this blog, I'm pretty sure even aliens have heard about it :P
We have spoken about their Happy Feet soap a while back. Here's another quick feature of their 100% veg, organic soap in the variant Pink for Skin.

For the past few years, I have indulged in handmade/organic soaps every now and then. Khadi India makes a few really affordable ones, I like the mint, honey, and lavender variants. Lilac Soaps is another brand with excellent soaps, I'm very partial to Shararat! We even covered a tried and tested charcoal soap on the blog for all the men in your life!

Meraki Spa, Bangalore : Experience

When it comes to body massages, I am an addict. There is something just so wonderful about one. The way you get all drowsy 10 minutes into the massage, the way the body feels all light and glow-y afterwards, and the way you get one of the best sleep that night!

But, it is quite a task in finding that perfect place that gives you a great experience. I keep trying new spas every now and then, but very few make into my list of recommendations. Meraki Spa & Boutique has made into that list. Read on to know more about them and my experience.
